The Orange-striped Threadtail in Arizona was known from a single sight record at Patagonia Lake State Park on 23 September 2016 until Matthew Brown discovered a breeding population of the species at Pena Blanca Lake (Santa Cruz Co.) in September 2020. This discovery raises the possibility that other populations of this small, unobtrusive species exist in similar habitats in the same general area.
