September 30, 2020
Location: Pena Blanca Lake

The Orange-striped Threadtail is a subtropical species that until now was known from a single sight record (September 2016) at Patagonia Lake State Park, Santa Cruz Co. On 27 September 2020 and during visits over the following days, Matthew Brown discovered multiple individuals, including ovipositing pairs, of the species at Pena Blanca Lake, also located in Santa Cruz Co. Below are some individuals photographed at this location on 30 September 2020. These observations provide the first documentation, as well as evidence of breeding, of this species in Arizona.
