Until now the latest date that the Variable Dancer had been recorded in Arizona was 3 November (2006; R. Bailowitz, personal communication).
A single male (shown below) of this species was found on 18 November 2017 at the Sonoita Creek State Natural Area in Santa Cruz Co., thereby extending the known flight season of the species in the state by two weeks.
