Carmine Skimmer, Orthemis discolor, in Pima Co.: New late flying date for Arizona

The Carmine Skimmer in Arizona is a rare species with scattered records, usually of single individuals, in the southern half of the state. Before 2021 this skimmer had not been observed after 23 November (http://azdragonfly.org/news/carmine-skimmer-orthemis-discolor-maricopa-c...). In fall of 2021, an exceptional (up to 7) number of individuals were found at Quitobaquito Springs in Pima Co. These included three males (photos below) observed on 19 December, which provides a new late flying date for this species in the state.
