Band-winged Meadowhawk, Sympetrum semicinctum, in Gila Co., AZ: new early flying date for the state

Until now the Band-winged Meadowhawk had not been recorded in Arizona before 22 June (1967!). Extending the flight period of the species in the state by almost 10 days, several individuals were observed on 13 June 2016 at the Star Valley Pond in Gila County. A male and a female observed that day are shown below.
