July 5, 2015
Location: Lower Eagle Creek

The Desert Shadowdamsel is a damselfly species that is known in the US from only a couple of locations, including Lower Eagle Creek, Greenlee Co., in southeast Arizona. It had until now not been observed flying until 17 July (2003; R. Bailowitz, pers. comm.). Four males (photos below) were found along Lower Eagle Creek on 5 July 2015, which extends the known flight period of the species in the US by almost two weeks.
