The Spot-tailed Dasher is a tropical species with few records in Arizona. On 16 June 2019, a male of this species (see below) was observed at the Arlington Wildlife Area in Maricopa Co. This observation provides a new county record for the species. In addition, the Arlington Wildlife Area appears to be the northernmost location where the dasher has ever been encountered to date.
