June 16, 2020
Location:

The Cardinal Meadowhawk in Arizona is a scarce species that is largely confined to southeast regions of the state. On 16 June 2020 Eric Hough discovered a male meadowhawk at Porter Creek (N 340 10' 16"; W 1090 58' 50") - see photos below. This observation provides the first record of the species in Navajo Co. and documents a significant northward extension of its range.
